Lilac: Fleeting Fragrance

Do you enjoy lilac's heady fragrance and floral display? Its waxy flowers form joyous clusters in a variety of colours, including white, pink, violet, dark blue and indigo. Lilacs originated in Eastern Europe and Asia and were brought over to America by colonists in the 17th century. Although they weren't native to America, they quickly became popular with Americans and Canadians. Since the 19th century, the sweet smelling flower has been ubiquitous with a well-tended garden.

Its blooming season is quite short lived; making it a perennial favourite for many.  Lilac's sweet fragrance is reminiscent of spring, conjuring up sunlit days and warm weather walks. These tiny clouds of flowers with a powderpuff scent don’t just sound poetic, they also look divine. Lilac is fabulous whether in a bouquet or flying solo in a glass jar by your bed. The perfume is almost guaranteed to give you sweet dreams.
