Inspiration: Spring Bridal Wreath Spiraea
Nothing is more abundant in Spring in Ontario than spilling Bridal Wreath spiraea. It flowers mid-spring, usually in the first week of May.
Bridal Wreath spiraea has a long history that dates back to ancient times. It has been cherished in various cultures for its symbolic representation of purity, innocence, and new beginnings. In the Victorian era, the language of flowers, or 'floriography,' became a celebrated means of communication, and the Bridal Wreath spiraea was often included in bouquets to convey heartfelt messages. Bridal wreath spiraea symbolizes purity and new beginnings. Its cascading white blooms make it a favourite in bridal bouquets. This flower is often used in spring weddings and garden designs.
Here we have styled Bridal Wreath spiraea in vintage iridescent seashell vessels, removing the foliage so that the delicate flowers truly show their beauty. We combined these delicate falling blooms with full petalled Candlelight roses, Playa Blanca roses, cream Majolica spray roses, soft pastel ranunculus, and clusters of lily of the valley and baby's breath.
If you love the idea of hiding messages in flowers or the language of flowers, we suggest our post Hidden Messages XX.
