À Dieu to Dahlias
Bidding À Dieu to our favourite summertime and early autumn bloom. Always the brightest right before first frost; which ends their growing season. Dahlias are eye-catching flowers that in the language of flowers mean 'yours forever.' Their petals are magnificent and spiralling, like a crown.
Meaning: The bloom symbolizes abundance, strength, and love.
Origin: The dahlia is a tuberous plant that originates from Mexico. Europeans brought the flower back with them to Europe when they first sailed over to Central America. The flower was named after the Swedish botanist Andreas Dahl, one of Carl Linnaeus’ pupils.
