Inspiration: Ditch it

We have set a goal to use our creativity and imagination, and to allow concept and colour to inspire us to make. Here is one of our weekly creative projects: Intersectional-design. In the studio, we were calling this arrangement 'elevated ditch flowers.' The ditch is an interesting intersection between man-made and nature. A sort of in-between space balanced between wild and controlled. One bleeding into the other. I allowed the stems to playfully keep their shape whilst still shaping the stems into this asymmetric display.

Loving the ethereal and airiness of this arrangement. Cloud-like, yet textual Queen Anne's lace makes up the majority of this arrangement. This dainty filler flower is an uncultivated form of the wild carrot, with broad round heads of tiny white flowers that resemble lace. What's behind its name? It is said that while Queen Anne was making lace by hand, she pricked her finger and out came a single drop of blood. The drop fell on the lace resembling the dark centre you'll often find at the centre of wild Queen Anne's lace.
