Q&A between Sash & Satin and Botany Floral Studio

Here is one Q&A from the interview ...
Are there any trends that you think will be popular for weddings in 2012?
We’re still moving away from the compact posy style bouquet into more natural designs for wedding bouquets. Florists are still designing, we’re simply not “over-designing” flowers. Designs are made to look effortless and to celebrate the natural shape and beauty of flowers.
Dutch design is huge, we’re seeing its’ influence everywhere. Think of 18th Century Dutch still-life paintings – we are replicating those large lovely loose bouquets in real life! What is more beautiful than that – creating living art!
Personally I love poppies and ranunculus mixed with pastel flowers. Pastels mixed with splashes of vibrant colours will be quite popular for weddings in 2012.
I also like the idea of all green weddings. Not only earth-friendly, but really focussing on luscious and textural plants and flowers. I love the idea of random antique and wooden vessels overflowing with fuzzy mosses and succulents. Wedding bouquets with splashes of greens and whites, ferns peeking out from behind gardeny white and green blooms. Succulents nestled between crisp green orchids and delicate pale petals. Bouquets full of fresh and random green odds and ends!
